During the month of June, we celebrate and honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This devotion helps draw us closer to Christ and to experience His mercy and love. In his work, “The Sacred Heart of the World,” David Richo explains, “Contemplation of Jesus’ Heart shows us how deep we really are, how vast our potential for love, how high our aspiration for the light.”
Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque as one burning with love for all of humanity. You can help your children grow in their devotion to the Sacred Heart:
- Help them prepare to consecrate themselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
- Celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus each June, 19 days after Pentecost and always on a Friday
- Arrange for the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart in your home
- Pray the short affirmation prayer: “O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in Thee”
