Advent
The Advent Wreath
The circular shape represents the love of God, with no beginning and no end.
The green of the evergreen branches remind us that Christ lives among us.
Each candle marks a Sunday in the Advent season, with purple the color of penance and pink the color of joy.
The pink candle is lit on Gaudete Sunday. It gives us a glimmer of the hope to come and encourages us in the darkness.
