Homeschoolers in Rhode Island are subject to statues that define and regulation homeschooling in the state. Steps to legally homeschooling in Rhode Island include:

1. Submit a notice of intent to the local school committee in your school district.

2. Teach the required number of days.

3. Teach the required subjects, including reading, writing, geography, arithmetic, health, PE, history of the U.S., history of Rhode Island, and American government.

4. Keep an attendance record.

5. Abide by any additional local district requirements.

HSLDA is the nation’s largest homeschool advocacy organization. They protect the rights of homeschoolers in court, advocate for homeschool freedom in state legislatures, and work to advance homeschooling in the public arena.

Rhode Island Guild of Home Teachers (RIGHT)
RIGHT is a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to the advancement of home education and to protecting homeschooling family’s right to homeschool their children. They coordinate state and local events, provide information and support to homeschooling families in Rhode Island, monitor state and national homeschool legislation, and advocate and lobby on behalf of Rhode Island homeschoolers at the state and local level.
